Terminal Knee Extension – Step Assist

HOW: Get set up standing in front of a step with the involved leg planted on the ground with a band comfortably placed behind the knee anchored in front of you, and the uninvolved foot resting on the step.  From here, use the step for assistance as you bend the knee with the band anchored around it slightly, and then use your quad muscle to straighten the knee to a full knee extended position.    FEEL: You should feel your quad muscle on the planted leg working as you work to bend the knee slightly then straighten it.   COMPENSATION: Avoid relying too heavily on the step. Try to stay upright and keep 80% of your weight on your planted leg
