This assessment will be looking at your thoracic spine mobility.
To perform this start by taping an X on the ground. You will sit in the middle of the X so that the tape forms a V in front of you in front of you. Place a PVC pipe across your chest and then rotate back as far as you can. Repeat this in the other direction. Take note of how close the PVC pipe gets to the tape line as you perform this on each side.
Make sure that the shoulders themselves are not creating the motion by excessive protraction and retraction which would give a false reading and that the motion is coming from the spine itself.
Prehab Goals & Normative Values:
You should comfortably be able to rotate the PVC pipe to the tape line.
Rotate the PVC pipe past the tape line.
Take the assessment, write down your score, and track your progress throughout the program.
