This research revealed that patients with neck pain exhibit increased EMG amplitude of the superficial sternocleidomastoid and anterior scalene muscles and reduce activation of the deep cervical muscles- Longus Colli and longus capitis (These are the 2 muscles we want to activate!) . So how do we do this? A lot of chin tucking! .
