Single Leg Balance – Vertical Head Turns

HOW: Begin this exercise by standing on one foot. From this position, bring your arms out to the side to assist with balancing. Once your balance is maintained in the single leg position slowly bring your gaze from the ground up to the ceiling working on maintaining your balance in the single leg position. Perform for the given amount of time prescribed. FEEL: You should feel your leg muscles and core working to maintain your balance as your direct your gaze up and down.  COMPENSATION: Try to avoid excessive arm movement and assist to maintain your balance by focusing your gaze on an object on the floor and an object overhead as you direct your gaze up and down.
