Shrug – Dumbbell

  • HOW: Have a dumbbell in each hand while in a standing position. Keeping your elbows straight, bring your shoulders straight up and back and perform a shrugging motion. Then lower your shoulders down in a slow and controlled motion. 
 
  • FEEL: You should feel your trap and neck muscles working. 
 
  • COMPENSATION: Don’t move your back or body, restrict motion to only your trap muscles. Keep your elbows straight.
