HOW: Start in a standing position with a band anchored under your feet, hold the band in each hand with the band positioned behind your head and neck with your palms facing up. While keeping the rest of your body still, elbows rotated in and forward with them pointed up facing the ceiling, straighten your elbows to perform an overhead tricep extension. Hold the end position for a moment to flex your triceps, slowly return to starting position and repeat.
FEEL: This should feel like an upper body workout, specifically your tricep muscles. You also may feel your shoulder blade muscles working to maintain arm position.
COMPENSATION: Keep the rest of your body still, do not excessively arch or bend your back. Do not use momentum to raise your arms. Do not let your elbows flare out or your arms lower down, keep your elbows high and rotated in facing up and forward.
