Hanging Shoulder Shrug

  • HOW: Start by bringing your arms up and grabbing onto the wide grips in a pull up bar. Let your body hang down with your knees slightly bent. Using only the muscles in the shoulder blade, pull your body up while keeping your arms straight with only a slight bend in the elbow. Think of bringing your shoulder down and away from your ears.
 
  • FEEL: You should feel the muscles in your shoulder blades working. 
 
  • COMPENSATION: Don’t bend your back backwards, keep it straight. Keep your elbows mostly straight, don’t bend them or use this in the variation.
