Bear Hug

  • HOW: being this exercise with a staggered stance, use either a theraband or crossover symmetry unit pulling from behind you. Push against the resistance to bring your arms all the way out in front of you, this includes pushing your shoulder blades away from you. Slowly come back to starting position then repeat bring bringing your arms out as if you were to give someone a big hug!
  • FEEL: You will feel the shoulder blades and the shoulder muscles working with this exercise.
  • COMPENSATIONS: Don’t over arch the neck or shrug the shoulder blades with this exercise.
